Just took the batteries out of my scale and hid it out of sight! Hopefully out of sight out of mind right? hehe

Good luck everyone :)

I'm trying to think of a treat (non food related) at the conclusion of week one? Any ideas?

    Good for you!

I put mine down in my backyard storage shed. Of course, I know where it is and have legs that work, but really going to try to leave it alone!

I like the reward idea, but have a hard time coming up with good rewards that aren't too $$$. I'm thinking and hoping someone else might come up with something interesting.

I told my fiance to take the batteries out of my scale and to hide it while I'm at work tomorrow so I can't find it. I'm not even going to look for it because that will just tempt me. I finally buckled down and took some pictures of myself. I had taken some about a year ago and had accidentally deleted them. So I took more tonight. Each month on the first, I will take the same pictures again to see how I look and if I can continue to see the differences.

Great idea klbaierwalter with the photos! I'm also after low/no $$ rewards as I'm a poor student!

I was also thinking... maybe measurements using a tape? Or maybe this falls into the category of scales? hmm food for thought :P

I've moved mine into the bedroom - if they're not in the bathroom I won't automatically jump on every morning and I NEVER weigh myself on carpet!

I'm hoping that's enough to keep the demon at bay because I can't put them away properly as my husband uses them too.

I last weighed myself on Friday, prior to the birthday indulgences, and I weighed 199lb - we'll see if taking the pressure off takes the focus away from what I weigh and allows me to concentrate on the important stuff - eating better and improving my fitness level

    Good luck everyone!

I can think of 100 rewards, but finding one that doesn't require money is rough! I haven't been getting paid consistently with my job, so I'm SO poor! lol. If you have any ideas, let me know!!

I've decided on earrings. Nothing expensive, but just decent looking Sterling or something. Gotta be on sale as I'm frugal and have limited funds right now, too. I think I'll do one pr 4/15 and another 4/30 if I can find what I like. I'm super picky. Being cheap and picky is a tough combination. :)

Well, I was just proud to not have gotten back on the scale yesterday. Now today will be the true test. Already marked today off my calendar. Lets hope willpower keeps me from being a liar... Good luck everyone.

Stayed off the scale this morning and since I always weighed in the morning I know I am okay for the rest of the day

    How's everyone going?

It's day 3 in Aus already... 10% of the way through! Whoop! haha

It's funny 'cos in my head I'm imagining that I haven't lost weight, when I probably have. Man I'm looking forward to my clothes fitting better :)

Yesterday I wore a top that was still a bit snug last time I tried it on but now fits perfectly, as a reminder that it's not just about the number on the scale. A few people at work told me how nice I looked, which was a good boost - most of the time I'm still wearing clothes that are a size or two too big so it hides what I've lost

I've gone from a UK 20/22 to an 18 but I don't want to buy more than necessities until I can get into a 16 - it's not like I don't have plenty of clothes to get back into!

Gotta say it was odd not to step on the scale this morning since it had become way too much a part of the routine and I hadn't intended for it to. But, it was so GREAT! Happy not to have that emotional reaction to it going up or down that usually set the tone for the day!

@lazyspice - I know what you mean about wearing clothes that are too big. I've gotten rid of a lot of them, but still pull out things I think will fit and am drowning in them. I'm smaller than I have been in almost 20 years, so have nothing to go back to. I'll have to get all new clothes eventually. Just buying things as I need them and thinking about sewing in many of the shirts I have to save the $ until I get closer to where I want to be.

    Have a great day, everyone!

Another day scale free. It is amazing how much of a habit it is to step on the scale every morning.

I am resisting but it is taunting me. thinking of taking it out of bathroom and putting it in the closet. going camping this weekend from Thursday to Sunday so that will be an easy few days. no scales in the woods.
  • My biggest reward will hopefully be seeing my weight go under 200 lbs for the first time in more than 15 years. My daughter bought me a pair of size 16 jeans that 'almost' fit when I tried them on last week...my goal is to be able to fit them comfortably by the end of the month.

I'm in exactly the same boat!
Weighed in at 208 on April 1st so definitely aiming to get under 200. I've got some size 16 but I think that might be different to US size... 'cos all my weight is in my belly and the button definitely won't do up for about another 10 kilos :P

    Good luck to us!

ps. Today I REALLY wanted to step on the scales, I needed a pick me up as I'm not feeling great about study. I resisted though! Yip!

Well, I did my last weigh in for the month this morning, no weigh ins for now, bugger though as this one was a small gain, wish I hadnt done it after all lol!

Was tempted to jump on again on friday as I had that as my goal date but I dont think I will, I think I'm taking this challenge by the horns and seeing what I can do. I'm not so much looking for a weight change for for a body fat change, I'm at 27.7, (down from 33.3 in january!)
