I have p90x and would like to do it but I'm also doing C25K to train for my first 5K. I was wondering if I could do a p90x-C25K hybrid.... but I'm not sure how to set it up. Weeks 1-3 of p90x look like this (as I'm sure a lot of you already know)

Day 1 – Chest and Back, plus Ab Ripper X
Day 2 – Plyometrics
Day 3 – Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper X
Day 4 – Yoga X
Day 5 – Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X
Day 6 – Kenpo X
Day 7 – Rest or X Stretch

So do you think it would be ok for me to just do the strength/weight days and run on the other 3 days? So MY weeks 1-3 would look like:

Day 1 – Chest and Back, plus Ab Ripper X
Day 2 – C25K
Day 3 – Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper X
Day 4 – C25K
Day 5 – Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X
Day 6 – C25K
Day 7 – Rest or X Stretch

Does that look ok? Or should I still do the Plyo, Kenpo, and Yoga?

I think your schedule looks pretty good :) If you look at the other P90X hybrid programs (on beachbody's web site) they tend to keep the strength and use the cardio from other programs, so I think you've got it right. I would definitely do the X Stretch on your rest day to keep you flexible. Let us know how it goes!

    Thanks!

(Just realized I mixed the "to" and "do" in my title lol)
  • You would run on your cardio days (Kenpo, Plyo) & I would still do yoga (it should help keep your muscles lenghtened and work deep into them to help your running endurance). You could probably cut Ab Ripper back to 2 days and, if you really want the 3rd running day, cut out Legs and Back altogether. It'll be pretty redundant with the work you're giving them in running and it's a 2nd back workout.
