My first MMORPG was RuneScape, but I think the top mmorpg is Guild Wars.

WoW was a major contributor to my weight gain 2 years ago
. That said, I recently played SWTOR and it only kept me entertained for so long. Got boring.
But since this is about free mmorpgs, my friend did tell me about APB yesterday and it looks interesting. Something different anyways.0 -
Since you can now play Everquest for free, that would easily be my number one choice, even if free to play is somewhat limiting.
I've played a few other free ones though the only two that come to mind right now is DDO and Roma Victor. Roma Victor was pretty interesting if you are of the mindset to appreciate long grinding sessions. But alot of the players have their heads up their own *kitten*.0 -
Top will be Firefall. It's pretty epic so far!0

I have really fallen in love with Age of Conan. I played the livin hell out of SWTOR but got bored as well and the PVP lacked any imagination. I played AOC at launch, but glitches and a slow PC made it unplayable and I quit within a month. The FTP part is very large, the FTP classes are good, and I don't feel like I'm walking into a Disney Store when it launches. It's a lot more gritty. The Feat trees and PVP at first glance felt similar to Star Wars, but after a few mini PVP matches I realized how more complex it was. Button mashiing is useless, combos are king, and if you are good enough, you can take on a vastly statisically superior foe and wipe the floor with him/her.0

I am going to have to try Runes of Magic, the Youtube videos make it look beast. Has anyone played it before?0

Well I'm a "lifer" on Lord of The Rings Online, so I'm a bit biased, but I think the model they use is very good for free play. There is no level cap and you can in theory get all the content through grinding for Turbine Points. The reality is that this would drag like hell and that paying one month for VIP and then reverting to "Premium" is the best way of doing it. I've been playing the game now for over 4 years.
That said, D&D was pretty good and I am considering Guild Wars 2. If there is anything incredible that comes out, then I might finally ditch LOTRO.0 -
Yeah, I am a huge Guild Wars fan. I cannot wait for GW2 comes out, but I'll already be in college so I do not think I will be able to play a game while going to school.0

I don't play much online MMORPG's, but a friend is getting me to try and play Aion, which will be free as of 4/110

runescape is/was mine as well0 -
I used to love playing RuneScape, but no one plays it anymore and I would like to find a game that is populated.0
-
Definitely Guild Wars imo.0

I'm currently addicted to Vindictus.0

What server?
Gilrain.... currently kinless and getting lots of invites since my main mini hit 75.0 -
Definitely Guild Wars imo.
I do not want to start playing until GW2 comes. I would hate to start playing and get into it when the new one comes out and I have to start over.0 -
I don't know whether or not it's a "top" but Star Trek was pretty freaking awesome!0

Ha, I bet. I'm on Elendilmir, but still have a few toons on Firefoot (where I started)0 -

Well we all had to start somewhere....
Runescape - High school; my character was level 22 (on the outside) but could mine, smelt, and smith like a boss. Loved beating out higher level toons for ore. Them: .....mining lvl? Me: 75 Them: ......*wander to other ore*
I should see if I could still login....maybe there'd be nobody to fight with over coal now! LOL
DDO - Post-college; all toons are on the Cannith server; I was recruited by my former D&D tabletop GM after she moved away. Started out as a tank, eventually settled into being a cleric. That game took a lot of adaptation for me, and each update tanks my poor laptop a little bit more. While I love being able to voice chat and game with my friends (including the one in China), I'm not terribly familiar with the mythos, so I end up just following whoever is leading the quest and attempting to keep everybody alive.
LotRO - Present; Arkenstone server. Introduced by a friend; loving the game to the exclusion of DDO. Like I said in the other thread, because I already feel like I know the mythos, it's like going on vacation. A goblin-slaying, town-saving, hobbit-defending vacation. I couldn't want for much more than that!0 -
Runescape was my first, which I still play. Though I would have to say my favorite, current addiction is Guild Wars.0

If this was the exact opposite, a hobbit slaying, town burning, goblin defending vacation, I would be sold on this game in an instant!0 -
