The true story of a young man discovering his sexuality within the conservative Christian community, and how his suicide changes his mother's life and opinions forever.

A novel that explores being a transgendered individual during the birth of the gay rights movement. Gritty, detailed, harsh, emotional, and intimate, it is one of the epics of our community. How far would you go to pass? How much of yourself would you hide? A true eye-opener even for the most "educated".

I highly recommend the work of Paul Monette, particularly "Becoming a Man: Half a Life Story"

I saw Leslie Feinberg soon after the book came out -- powerful speaker.

OH I loved that book. That guy was so beautiful - and I mean beautiful in spirit. Very comforting to read when I was struggling at the end of my marriage.
