Hi all,
I embarked on 5X5 Stronglifts yesterday and I'm really looking forward to the challenge. My question is one I haven't seen posted and won't be relevant for some time for me (say, until after 5X5 is finished in 12 weeks) but I have noticed in videos that heavy lifters often wear running shoes with no real thickness to the sole and where the heel isn't elevated relative to the forefoot. Think Converse All-Stars. I have also noticed some lifters doing the lifting in their stocking feet (i.e. no shoes).
I'd be interested in thoughts on footwear. Is it a mistake to just stick with a typical running shoe when lifting heavy or is this only something that is a consideration when big weights are involved (say squats of +300 lbs). Thanks.
Dave
