Hi Anne :flowerforyou: , I was reading some of the posts and read where you had arthritis in the knees. I do too so know how hard it is to walk. And the excess weight does not help. That is what I an hoping for is to lose weight so some of the pressure will be off my knees and hopefully I will be able to walk better. As it is I can't walk around any store so I just go to the ones that have the electric carts. If they don't have them I don't go. Also don't get to go to flea markets or yard sales. I used to have a scooter but it broke down so got rid of it. :ohwell: And right now I refuse to buy another as I am expecting to be able to start walking better and more as I lose weight.
I too joined the YMCA and was going to do the water aerobics but haven't gone yet. Went to one of the silver sneakers exercise classes they have but that was it. I have belonged for a month now so need to go on and just do it.:embarassed:
How are you doing with the water aerobics? Have you been able to do any walking? How much weight have you lost , do you want to lose?
I need to lose 100 pounds but will be satisfied 75. Together we can do this.
Hugs, Ann

You will love the water aerobic class when get started. I had no knee pain during or after the class. I only stopped because they closed my job location and relocated me 30 mins farther away. I now spend 3 hours a day commuting and I have little time for anything else.
I don't want to quit my job. It has a small pension and I want it. Not many companies have kept them. I have 18 years invested.
I hope to hang in a few more...lol.0 -
I am sorry you got relocated and can't do your exercise, but the job is important. You are right about companies, so many now a days don't want to pay any benefits. People are lucky just to get a job so hang in there.0

Hi,sorry I was so long getting back to you. I love the water fitness classes and I have had a lot of improvement in my knees after a year of attending. I was so stiff that walking even one block was painful but now I can walk one mile on the indoor track. Golf season begins next week and I hope to be able to walk the short course. Last year I had to use a golf cart on all the courses. I don't know if it is the exercise or my attempts to eat healthier foods that have resulted in better mobility. Maybe its both combined. I haven't lost a lot of weight but my clothes fit better and my friends say they see a big change from last year in my appearance and energy. So, I can't say enough about the benefits of the Y water fitness. I would like to lose 30 pounds more. So far, I haven't made much progress....2 lbs. (last year I lost 20)....my ticker is stuck on that part of the scale and I haven't behaved very well for two weeks. Thanks for the encouragement and I hope you try aquafitness,
Anne0
