I just enlisted the help of a dietitian...

So, I haven't been noticing the loss i have been hoping for over the past few weeks...so i decided to reach out and ask for help. As it turns out, my cousins SIL, whom I met while I was home visiting for Christmas, is a dietician. So I've decided to let her try to help me out! I'm very excited to start this journey with her, and I hope that together her and I can get me to a healthier place...has anyone worked with a dietitian or nutritionist in the past? How did it go? Was it helpful? Anyway just wondering what your thoughts are. HAPPY EASTER! Don't eat too many easter sweets!

I previously worked with both a dietitian and a nutritionist, they were in the family health clinic back home.
Make sure when you "Get advice" from them they "know" how MFP works ie your "calories goal" itself contains your deficit for weight loss, before lifting a finger in exercise... so on MFP you may want to eat your exercise calories... might not be a big deal for those of us with 200lbs or more to lose, but definitely is for those close to their goal.
My experience with the dietitian... I gained 15 lbs working with them before I moved. Their daily calories goal was 2400 while I was supposed to build my deficit by 500 calories of exercise daily. That didn't work for me because I sure as shooting don't exercise daily.
MFP (before my recent change) gave me 1900 calories a day to eat, and if I exercised 500 calories you can bet I'd eat near 2400 calories that way... and it helped me to lose as I should have been. Deficit through diet alone is a much more realistic goal for me as I can do that daily while I am not motivated to work out daily.0 -
I'm eager to see how that works for you! Let us know the results!0

Could you please update?
Many times I have thought of working with a dietician - and I would love to hear how things are going! Nothing better than to hear it from someone who knows!
Thank you!
