How's your stride?

My husband teases me that I stomp around the house (I'm both tall and heavy). I tell him that I just stride with purpose. So what is your natural stride like? Do you take small steps, or do you lengthen your stride to take advantage of your long legs? Are you even conscious of the length of your stride? How about during exercise? Just curious. :)

I'm a pretty quiet walker and for being 6 ft tall, my legs aren't very long (only a 33 inseam). I'm really torso-y. So I don't walk all that fast compared to other people my height. My best friend is 5'11" and I can hardly keep up when we're walking.

Heh, I'm a very heavy walker and the boyfriend makes fun that I stop around the house like an elephant too :P

As for stride... I'm not sure but I think it is pretty small... I've always had pretty short friends (tallest right now is probably 5'6) so I think I've learned to walk at their pace. I went walking with my sister a while ago who is only an inch or two taller and I felt like I had to run to keep up with her!

During exercise I think I have a very long step. When I walk around the neighborhood it usually calculates to 3.8-3.9mph. I'm walking with a mission but I'm not intentionally speed walking.
