Knee Bursitis

Anyone experience knee bursitis? I ran my first half marathon 4 weeks ago and hurt my knee really bad. I haven't been able to run since because it hurts so bad. I went to the doctor a few days ago and she said it is bursitis and to take Aleve for 2 more weeks. That will be a total of 6 weeks not able to run!
I am going stir crazy and wanted to know if there are any other natural remedies? I have looked up some online but would like to hear opinions if anyone has one. Anica Montana , ginger powder, and Devil's Claw are 3 that I found online, but are they worth it? Anyone have any other experiences?

What's knee bursitis? I am running my first half marathon on Saturday and have been having some knee pains during my training, not sure if this is the same thing you have! Hope it feels better!0

I have bursitis in my right knee and the bursa sac swells up pretty good when I do trail runs, but after taking an anti-inflammatory pill (naproxen), it usually subsides. I tried to be preventative and take the Naproxen prior, but it didn't help at all. I have heard knee sleeves help out with the problem but just cant get used to it, thus just deal with it. Sorry I cant be of more help.0
