So I started Insanity on April 1st. I'm finishing up week 2. Some of the workouts (2 times) I just could not finish.
Do you guys stick with the nutrition guide? I don't really follow it but I do follow the calories intake. I track them
and I am eating around 1200 a day.
I'm 5'6 and a half and weight 167. The funny thing is that I do not look like I
weight 167 but more like 145/150. My goal weight is about 140. I really don't care what the scale says but instead
go on how my body looks and how I feel.
Am I the only one having trouble with the push ups? I can barely do it. I was just curious if it gets easier as it goes?
I am pushing through til I am pouring sweat but I still can't get the push ups down and my knee's and ankles are so sore.
So sore that I can barely go up and down my stairs. I feel like I am 50 years old as far as my knee's and ankles go.
Thanks!

I'm finishing up week 3 today and I'm 5'6 and weigh 155 right now. My goal weight is the same as yours. Sounds like we have similar body types. 140 is like a size 4/6 on me.
The push ups are killing me too! I can barely do them but I have noticed that I'm getting lower and my form seems to be better. Try doing a couple push ups earlier/later in the day and I bet you will impress yourself. I find that during the video I'm soooo winded and my legs are like jello that doing a push up is nearly impossible.
And yes, my right knee is very sore! I ice it at night and have been taking Ibprofin (sp?). I have also noticed that my lower back is extra achey from the power jumps and suicides.
I love Insanity but I really hope I survive it in one piece!0 -
hey guys
im 5'6'' too and 160lbs. im not aiming to lose weight but to tone my body up. i just had me second baby and im very "soft" as a nice word. lol
i just finished day 3 of insanity... i was wondering does it gget easier once your not sore or is it aboout the same?0 -
I had a little girl about 19 months and I lost the baby weight but gained some when I moved across country. Kind of hard to eat well when all your things are packed up and you're on the road and to get back into the routine because moving is very stressful to me. I had gained some weight and that's what I'm trying to lose. When I was at 140 I was an 8/9 and that is the size I am really happy with.
My legs turn to jello too and I will definitely try the push ups here and there before I start the daily workout I just wanted to make sure I wasn't straining my ankles and knee's to the point of medical issues but it seems like it's something everyone goes through.
Jasmine, I understand the "soft" ness haha. That baby pouch is hard to get rid off, most of all when it's really soft, it sucks! I have noticed some toning and I am only in week 2! Your endurance gets better and better as the days go on. The first day I thought, "man I really can't do this" but if you keep working at it, you'll notice after a few days that your endurance gets better. I don't think the soreness goes away because every week is different. If your muscles get too comfortable in a workout then you will most likely not see results. Once you think you're used to the workout, the week changes and so does the workout so we gotta work through the soreness. Are you drinking any kind of recovery drink? I drink a cup of TruMoo chocolate milk (better then the other junk). Other people do the same thing as far as the choc. milk because you need the sugar and protein plus they can/t afford all the formula but it's whatever you're wanting to drink for recovery. It helps with the soreness.0 -
the push ups kill me too and sometimes I do go to my knees to squeeze them out...but it's all about improvement in insanity. What I couldn't do today I'll push to do just a little more next time!
Keep it up and push through and you will reap the rewards. I also don't follow the guide but log my calories on Mfp. Honestly only eaing 1200 cal and doing insanity is probably not enough. But listen to your body if you are starting add a few hundred calories.0
