I just found out I'm pregnant. I wished I wasn't starting out at 232. I just gave birth 16 months ago. So many thoughts are running through my head. I just can't gain 40 pounds. I never did lose the weight from the last pregnancy because I was dealing with postpartum depression. I'm vowing to myself to start this one right and to limit the weight gain. I'm tracking calories this time and not taking a free pass (this is going to be hard because my husband just bought a slice of pizza, and strawberry shortcake home ugh!). So I'm joining this message board in hopes gaining support.

I am in the same boat as you. My last pregnancy 5 years ago I began at about 210 lbs and gained 70 on top of that. I did manage to get all the weight off, but it was hard and my DR and hospital staff were horrible to me about my weight. I am now about 11 weeks pregnant with my second child and I started out again at about 210 lbs. This time I am shooting for 30-40lbs and NO MORE!!! I was lucky last time that my son was born healthy and I was able to get the weight off. That was 5 years ago so I dont want to push my luck again!!!! Good Luck and CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

Congrats! Try not to focus on the number on the scale, but fueling your body with healthy foods. Some women do gain more than others (swelling and water weight is common in the summer). And get some exercise, walking is great, when you are feeling good. I had my first two babies 20 months apart and am pregnant again and my 2nd and this baby will only be 13.5 months apart so your age gap doesn't sound so scary now, right? :laugh:0
