hi all my name is vander i am 33 years old with 3 beautiful children and a great hubby.
will explain what's been going on
every day i am in constant pain from my left side , have pain, bloating constant diarrhoea and sometimes i get compacted (both are equally as bad) and i also get full quickly and also have bouts of sickness
i get mucus and blood at times and my tummy swells from 39 inches to up to 60 inch with hours
the gp has been fa**ying about for the last 6 months but i get to see the specialist beginning of may (AT LONG LAST)
had loads of blood tests the main one hes worried about is i have no vitamin B12 or folic acid but in his wisdom has decided to wait to give me injections to see what specialist says.
anyway the gp has give me medication to ease the symptoms but even when i take them i still get what i call flare ups where i am crippled in pain on the fall i am not a wimp had gall stones, appendix out and 3 children 1 at home no pain meds but this is affecting my whole life i cant do home visits for my job as i could get an attack of D.
the meds i am on are as follows
buscopan 3 x10mg 3 times per day
loperamide 2mg (2 at 1st bout) the one there after up to 8 per day
dompermine 2x10mg 3 per day
peppermint capsules 2mg x2 4 times per day
codine 30mg x 3 per day (try not to take these)
folic acid 5mg x 2 per day
keeping food diary and bowel movements diary to show the specialist is there anything else u think i should take so they take me seriously?
sorry to ramble on all advice welcome x

Hey,
Sorry to hear about what is happening, that does seem quite extreme especially the swelling in the stomach.
Are you on a specialized diet?
Before I was diagnosed with Crohn's I had diarrhea almost nightly. For me a low-residue diet worked wonders, but for others it's been glucose or lactose that is a major problem.
Also don't be afraid to get a second opinion if things aren't working or you find yourself questioning the doctor a lot.0 -
been told not to eliminate anything from my diet as can give a false negative???
yes the tummy bit is what i get cross with have to take 3 pairs of trousers to work or wear my legging that stretch with me
i am hoping to get some answers on the 2nd may when i see the specialist if not will deffo ask for a 2nd opinion and thanks of replying x0 -
If your b12 is low, I'd take a sublingual (melts under the tongue) b12 pill or a liquid b12 if he's screwing around. That can be serious (I suffered neurological problems when mine was really low). I didn't even end up going in for the shots; the sublingual brought mine up over the course of a few months.0

thanks for the reply ladies
well i went today and now back from the hossy she actually listened to me got to have further investigations basically camera down throat and in tummy for biopsies there also to check for wheat intolerances and milk and also a camera up the bottom again but even further then last time, she explain i was in pain last time as could of torn/ripped my scar tissue inside from my hysterectomy ;( so will need 3 days off again this time but will book 2 for medical and 2 A/L and the good news is its only gonna be 4 weeks wait (fingers crossed) and i am deffo to have vitamin b12 jabs she doesn't understand why i have had to wait grrrrrrr as the 2nd and 3rd time were even lower then the 1st test and i was eating more veg etc oh well at least its getting sorted now x
she said its why i was feeling so pants and the pins and needles (didnt know it was even related??)
so she rang gp while i was there o sort out the injection x
thanks for replying to me xx0 -
just an up date had a call yesterday they are doing my mini investigations on the 29th may really happy its getting sorted x0
-
Glad you are getting a proper investigation. Until you have a colonscopy etc, everything is speculation.0

yes its all speculation and if i am honest i just hope i get answers even if its just bad IBS, but she did mention crohn's when talking to me but hoping i get the answers i need after the 29th it also says on the op sheet under investigation looking at lining of bowel, biopsies and polyps and evidence of crohns and colitis ??
either way i hope to get the answers soon x0
