The best/nicest YMCA in town?

Hello everyone! Anyone here a member of the ymca? I have a membership because the Y in Fort McMurray is so close to my apartment. However, most of my days off are spent in Etown, and I would like to start going to one there. (when I actually have time to go haha) I live in the southend, but wouldnt be opposed to driving a bit for a nicer gym. Thanks in advance :D

    The one in Castledowns is OK...can be very busy though, and running track is small

    A fantastic new facility is the renovated commonwealth stadium rec centre. Its not YMCA...but wow its nice!!! Encourage everyone to check it out..oh maybe i should keep it secret!!!

    I heard the one in the Lessard (westside) area was good. I used to be a member with Don Wheaton which is the one that is located right across from City Centre mall.

    Thanks for the replies :) I went to the South end location, William Lutsky, today and it was very nice. I didn't realise they had soooo many mirrors for people to lift in front of and ended up invading some poor lady's space for one set of my arm lifts, oops!! I literally ran off to another one on the opposite side of the room once I realised haha

    has anyone been to Commonwealth since it re-opened? i know it's not a YMCA, but i have heard some good things about it. i currently go to Millennium Place in Sherwood Park, but i'm thinking i need a break from that place.

    OMG yes Ive been to commonwealth. Its huge!! The cardio area is the smallest...and hot??but holy cow the weights sectio goes on forever..outside windows, natural light. Peaceful if you go during the day. Nice running track too. Brand new and CLEAN gym floor. Pool is a rec pool not for serious swimming. All inall, very impressed!!!
