I have Hashimoto's. Was diagnosed in 2008 and I'm just barely hypo. How are you feeling?

I am GF because of my Hashi's. I read this great book called "why am I still having thyroid symptoms" - it's all about Hashimoto's. My antibody count was 950 and after going GF they dropped to 500 in just six weeks. Still really high but I'm feeling much better than I was.
I wish I had any tips and tricks right now on how to lose weight. So far all I've really been able to do is not gain anything. I have found however that I might lose a few pounds by eating no carbs. My body reacts to any kind of sugar by slapping it right on my belly. I don't know if that is a thyroid thing, or if it is just a me-thing. The minute I have some rice or corn chex it comes right back. It's very frustrating but I have to be positive that if I stick with it my body will eventually adjust and get rid of the extra pounds.
