I'm thinking of using May to really get it in gear and try for 90% "real" foods. Anyone tried this? Anyone want to try it?

I am totally down for this! I've tried to go clean in the past, I even completed a 30 day juice fast three years ago. I always wind
up falling off the wagon and I'm sick of it. I know I feel better and my skin looks better when I eat clean and stay away from
gunk like sodas and donuts.
My food diary is open for those on my friends list. Keep me accountable! Today the only processed foods I ate were cheese
and the protein powder I put in my smoothie.0 -
I'm in! Off to do some research!!!0

Hey, Ren, how are we going to keep each other accountable and encouraged?0
-
Hmmm, the first thing I'll do is open up my food diary so you can see it! I guess we could just keep an eye on each other's diaries and ask or comment if we question the realness of a food. The main thing is that we can be totally honest in our food tracking and open to asking and researching questionable foods. And if we make a mistake, or make an informed choice to eat something processed, fess up and move on!! What do you think?
Oh, and I'll try to post all of the recipes I use on the website I told you about. I can try to post them here, or at least post a link to them...
Day 1... whoot, whoot!!0 -
Can't wait for the recipes
Would you add my friend courtgosvener to the group? Thanks!0 -
Done! I just posted a new recipe for asparagus and sweet onion soup. It was delicious and only about 65 calories per 1 cup serving!0
-
That sounds delicious! Is it posted on your website?0

Yep, put the recipe up on the site (eatingreal.com). How is the challenge going for you? I've been doing mostly well... passed on the bagels this morning then had a couple of beers this evening. What can I say, I'm trying!!!0
-
Haha! Beer sounds good right about now! The point is to be more conscientious and eat 90% real food, so I think you're fine The hubby and I were plugging along great until we had a late night snack of potato chips and dip. You know what? It was so salty we didn't finish it!0

I will be doing as much as I can starting this afternoon (went and put a Splenda in my coffee this morning and used WishBone dressing at lunch so gotta start after that  )
Dinner I'm planning a whole wheat naan pizza with roasted veggies! Hope it turns out well.
We* are not going completely cold turkey because we have a TON of food to get through, we're just not going to buy any NEW bad stuff. I don't think I'm physically, financially, or psychologically capable of throwing food away no matter HOW processed. Luckily it will soon run out and we'll only use what we have sparingly so we don't have too much.
That's our current plan!
*"We" = myself (with Baby on the way) and my husband0 -
I've been battling daily lol. I really do adore this challenge. I made the soup recipe you posted a week or so ago, but added pumpkin to it, because it needed to be used up. LOVED!0
