My 3 year-old just stood his diminutiveness in front of the flatscreen, gestured with his left hand, and commanded, "TV...ON!".
How to reward such prodigy? How have you passed on your dorkdom to the younger generation?

I really, really miss Gargoyles.
I teach them words like: greaves, breastplate, kraken, teleportation, and quantum. I also watch "Into the Universe" with them. Steven Hawking is their Mr. Rogers.0 -

Thanks, but I worry. The little one has all the makings of a super villain. I fear I'm just giving him the tools he needs...0 -

My boys all want to play with my Beta Land Tax/ Chains of Mephistophles deck!!

My 11yo is a walking Star Wars wiki, has definite opinions on which Star Trek series is best, was Spock for Halloween last year, collects Lego sets and comic books, is a better gamer than I am, and got seriously excited when he heard Joss Whedon's name in conjunction with the new Avenger movie. Yes, he knows Joss Whedon. I take this parenting shtick very seriously!
Alas, my 8yo is not a geek. He's quite the black sheep in our family0 -
My 15yr old was a comic book geek from the beginning! He lived in his Batman costume when he was younger. He went everywhere in it and I mean everywhere and I let him!!! He is a huge comic book geek and I go to him for all my questions regarding superheroes. He is also a huge Star Wars geek and we went to the midnight screening of Revenge of the Sith in costume (both of us). He was a padawan and I was Shaak Ti. He is a serious video gamer, but what teenage boy isn't. He is huge into Dr. Who, Torchwood (he hasn't seen them all. I did screen the sexier ones from him.), The IT Crowd, Monty Python, Firefly, and all the other required geek watchings. And is huge into zombies. We watch Walking Dead together and he has seen all the required zombie movies. He is not into Star Trek or Lord of the Rings though. And Lord of the Rings is my all time favorite so I am a little saddened by this. I plan to take him to Dragoncon next year and he already has one costume Ghost from Modern Warfare and the other the main guy from Assassins Creed (don't play so I don't know his name) and has already made his retractable knife piece for his arm.
My 10yr old is an art geek already, but not so much Sci fi or fantasy. She has already sold paintings at craft fairs I have vended at. The Sci fi/Fantasy is only a matter of time though I am hoping.0 -
LOL my son came out of his room the other day and I had to do a double take. My 6 yr old had on his red ninja costume with his batman sunglasses a cape, the sword from how to train your dragon , his buzz light year blaster and his thor helmet.. He told me he was just being prepared.... Plus both the children were very upset that I was going to see the Avengers without them lol. I had to tell them I was going to take them to see it after Mommy saw it first.
Plus I busted my 8yr old princess reading by flashlight when she was supposed to be sleeping the other night0
