How is everyone doing?

Hi All,

How is everyone doing? There haven't been any new topics lately and if anyone needs encouragement or has "STUFF" that we over the beautiful age of 60 have to deal with, remember this group is here to help or at least sympathize with you. (We do what we can).

I have a NSV that I'm so happy to share. My attitude has gotten so much better since I have adjusted some medications that I was taking that I count it a blessing. Of course, the sun being out has helped a lot. I'm Hypothyroid and losing weight is a slow process for me and I take a long time to see any movement of that little square on the floor but I'm getting there. Ounce by ounce. Not necessarily pound by pound, they will add up later, but I feel so much better.

Today a friend and I drove to the town where I used to live. (Hubby stayed home and worked in the yard.) I've had friends tell me that someday they would move back to a place they loved. You know, you can never go back. It just isn't the same as you remember. I've known that for a long time but seeing ye ole township again just reminded me of that fact. The town has grown so much and as I used to know just about everyone, this time I didn't see a soul that I knew. But, that's how it goes.

Just wanted to let everyone in our little group know that encouragement is still out there if needed. Wishing you all a beautiful first week of May and many NSV's.

I truly related to your post about never going back again. For years, I have wrestled with the idea of returning to my former home where I was so happy being a wife and mother, but I know that things and people have changed there. Your post just helped me realize that I'm not the only one who thinks this way and that going back is like chasing an elusive butterfly. It's just not the same so I need to continue to focus on being happy with where I am. Thanks for your post.

I visited the city where I lived in my late 20's early 30's. Not only was it an exciting time in my life but I had the best of friends.
i realized this past visit how much their lives have changed, and how much I have changed. I love to visit but my fantasy to retire there....it is just a fantasy.
I am so glad your meds have been shuffled around and you feel better.
My very large labradoodle is now insisting I play with him.
Hopefully now that I feel better I will be more present here.
    Regards to all.

Welcome tsca. You will find lots of friends and support in this group. I am planning to visit my "old " hometown in Oct. I wonder how it will be.
