After my pity party to myself last week (I attribute it to stress of work/finals and have moved on) this week is going to be a better week.

This week my goal is to realize that 4:30am does exist on my clock and get out of bed to fit in a morning workout. Got it in already this morning (YAY!!)!

Monday - AM Swim (DONE YAY!!!), PM Bike/short run
Tuesday - AM Run, PM Swimming Lessons
Wednesday - AM Swim, PM CrossFit
Thursday - AM Swim, PM REST
Friday - AM Swim, PM Brick
    Saturday - Run
Sunday - AM Bike, PM CrossFit

After a race that yielded me an almost 20 minute PR at the Oly distance (yet not my goal time GRRRR) we move back to base building training:

Mon- 2k recovery swim, core, yoga
    Tues- 1:10:00 Z1 Bike, 45 min Z1 run
    Wed- ZR run 35 min, 1 x 900 pull buoy, 1 x 900 paddles, 1 x 900 free
    Thurs- 1:20 interval ride
    Fri- 1:10:00 Z1 run, 1 hr Z1 bike
    Sat- rest
Sun- 2:15:00 bike, 25 min ZR Trun

I see some of you doing strength training. Can I still fit in some heavy strength training 3 days a week training for a sprint tri? An example of a week for me will be:

    Monday - Swim 20mins, Run 25 mins
    Tuesday - off
    Wednesday - Bike 30
    Thursday - Run 25
    Friday - Swim 35
    Saturday - Off
    Sunday - Bike 45

I could do weights on at least one of the off days. I know my training is not too hard core compared to most of you's, but I wondered what are your guys' experience with doing strength training and tri training. Thanks so much!

Yes you could still lift heavy training for a sprint. I think that is the only distance that you can max out your potential tri wise and still dedicate yourself enough to lifting where you can progress.
