I don't know, but I would love to know too.

I have two personal challenge's for the week, drink my 8 glasses of water (which is 'really' easy on my bootcamp days), and work out at least 45 mins a day for 6 days a week. Not sure what day I'm going to choose for my rest day though.. Probably Wednesday.

Do you have any personal goals for this week?

Hello Teal Team! Glad we are finally able to post somewhere. I'm going to go ahead and message all the team members the link to this group and this thread.

Just want to post the guidelines here too for reference:
    MAY CHALLENGE SPECIFICS

The goal of the month is to lose 5 pounds (or more) while staying accountable with our intake and calories spent throughout the month.

On the first, and then every Tuesday following, we will weigh and report to the group page (or original thread if group page not working).

On this page we will put on May 1:

    1. Team COLOR
    2. Current weight
    3. Month's weight goal

There will also be available a "challenge" for the teams. By completing the challenge, each team will be able to earn bonus for weight loss or calories for the week.

During the week, team members should be in contact with other team members for encouragement and support. (Remember there are some people who value being anonymous, so if someone on your team is sticking just to weight loss/exercise and not sharing their life history, that is okay). Try to send encouragement to each team member as often as possible.
Every Tuesday after that we will log:

    1. Team COLOR
    2. May 1 weight
    3. May 8 weight (and add a date to every week after 15, 22, 29)
    4. weight difference*
    5. Calories burned that week*
    6. If you completed the challengE

Look for the challenge for the next week as you report!

Our wonderful stats/math people (thank you) will then take the information provided on the * spots and come up with team averages. Wednesday morning we will post the top five teams in each category with their numbers. We will post after the first week the winners for the week and the winners for the month totals... so every week your team has a new start!
(Team leads please let me know if there are any people on your team who are not participating so we will not average them into the statistics.)

    Please note-

Calories burned should be only reported if it is actually caused by effort, sleeping with a heart rate monitor on and logging the time DOES NOT COUNT! If you have questions over what counts as calories, please discuss it with your team members. I trust you can work together to be honest in your reporting.

Second, remember we are in this for the long haul. Please be healthy. Eat at least 1200 calories and do not do any type of exercise that your doctor would not approve of.

Third, if you do not report, for whatever reason, you are out of the challenge. If you know you will be away from the computer all day on Tuesday, report on Monday.

I hope this is clear enough. We will see if the group sites are up (hopefully) for weigh in on Tuesday. If not, please put your info on the original thread.

Good luck to all! FIVE POUNDS FOREVER!!!

hi everyone! can't wait to start tomorrow. I really need to eat better.

I have a question. Who is supposed to come up with the weekly challenge? Is it per group? like it will be posted here or on the main thread?

also, how do you all log weight training? I just started using resistance bands (I bought them for hubby. he's not using them and I dont want to waste $. I'm a cheapo). I usually dont' log them cause they dont translate as calories burned.

Kiku, I use a heart rate monitor, but most of my weight training is done as interval training, so I don't know if a heart rate monitor would work for only resistance training. Does your heart rate go up while using the bands?

I got my heart rate monitor for around 35-40 dollars on amazon. It is a Polar FT4.

From the way the guidelines are written I think saytrakk, the person who created this challenge, will post the special points challenges.

For the weight training there is a section to record strength training in your exercises, so even though it doesn't take away calories you can still track it.

I think that your team captain should have told you when they invited you.

You get a message from the lady who created the challenge telling you.

Ladies! Don't forget to weigh yourselves first thing tomorrow morning and check into the main thread with your stats!

First Week Challenge Below! Let's come up with some awesome things, Ladies!
    Week 1 Challenge

This week you are challenged to do something you have NEVER TRIED BEFORE!

It has to be something GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH!

And you have to SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR GROUP!!

Okay, I know this is very vague, but any example I might give you could sway how you interpret it. I want you to think about this and be creative! Teams who have every member complete this challenge will have a 1/2 pound advantage for the week.
Have a great adventure! And don't forget to weigh in!!!!

That is going to be hard. I'm going to have to think about it. Maybe ride 25 miles on my bike? But that depends on the weather...

Hmmmm, what is everyone else think of doing?

I would like to go swimming but I don't think the pools are open quite yet. I might go for a walk around the park since I haven't done that yet.

That is a work out, especially going against the wind. My 5 year old still doesn't ride a bike with out training wheels so when we go on our bike rides he is in the trailer. He loves it, but the older he gets the harder it is. When we go on long rides I usually have him half way and then his daddy has him the other half.

I'm thinking of trying a food or combination of foods I've never tried before. Maybe adding spinach to my pasta sauce? Because I'm prego, some things are too adventurous for me ;)

hmmm. thats a hard one. I may NOT cheat on my diet this week. No cookies here and there. My biggest challenge is the eating right now so it should really help me get back on track.

I don't think I'll be able to weigh in this week. I'm in the hospital and I don't think they look favorably on my leaving while in labour. I did do the challenge. Just put me down as no change and I'll weigh in next Monday night

I just weighed in for the first time and I did not loose any weight this week. I did not eat great this weekend but I did do 2 walks for charity one on Saturday and one on Sunday so I walked 10 miles this weekend but after each walk we went to eat to celebrate.. I am starting fresh today with a good attitude!!
