I have been having a pain in the groin area on my right leg for a few days now. I can walk and run just fine, but if I stretch or lean forward there is a sharp pain. I cannot sit "Indian-Style" as the pain is severe in that area.

I run 30-35 miles per week, and although I did just commit to run my first marathon I have not yet begun to train for it by changing my current routine at all. I have not injured myself or fallen down recently, so does this just seem like a running induced groin pull?

if you are laying on your side, is it difficult to flip over?

Not particularly so, but there is a little pain. I typically sleep on my belly, but the last couple of nights I have actually been sleeping directly on my side (fetal like) to ease the discomfort.

could be groin I guess. I pulled my groin and the issue migrated into the hipflexor. I am very tight in that area now and have similar issues. Oddly enough, the thing that bothered it the most was flipping over (more hipflexor) and hip abduction

i would recommend that you get a little work done it before starting your training as it will only compound and all sorts of other stuff will be impacted.
