Virtual Ride Across America

So one of my fitness goals for 2012 is to complete a "Virtual Ride Across America", so I mapped out a route from New York City to San Francisco. It's 3069 miles long. Today I hit a milestone, as I made it from NYC to my hometown near Chicago, IL!

I'm running a little behind schedule, but with the outdoor riding season here I'm sure to catch up in no time.

Is anyone else doing anything similar?

    Many years ago, I had thought of doing something similar using my exercise bike. Might have to give it another try using my real bikes (no longer have the exercise bike)

    It is a ride from Virginia to Oregon on the Adventure Cycling route. It gives pictures all the way across. I have done it a couple times.
