Well I have to say I don't think I have a great dating life- I enjoy it sometimes but I do struggle with it often. But a lot of guys like woman to play games and yeah I know how to play them but I just want to be myself and I hope someday I will be able to find that someone who respects that! I also get a lot of pressure from my father to meet someone since I have been single for the last year and a half so that makes things frustrating.

Update on the date

The date didnt go perfectly but I really enjoy talking to him and hope to get together again- we will see what happens.

That is good news. I saw some things that could have easily submarined a date and turned this into one and done. I think that speaks well of you.

Where did you two meet for the first time? The meet at your door prior to the first date thing isn't done too frequently early on these days.

Thank you- I admit I had a higher expectations going into the date so I was a little disappointed but I do like to keep an open mind. The date didn't go perfectly (even the sleeping- but I fallen asleep during movies not on a date tho) but I think he is a great guy.

We met at a meet up happy hour event for a new group I joined.

He wanted to pick me up at my house and I felt comfortable enough to do that.

The falling asleep thing is not really good but dumb crap happens sometimes too so nice that you are keeping an open mind and a positive outlook.
Curious...did he pick that movie based on signals you had sent regarding wanting to see it etc?

Yeah the falling asleep irrated me but it is something I can overlook. He is big into films so my only guidelines were that I didn't like dumb comedies like will Farrell movies and he didn't tell me he saw it until we walked out of the movie but I didn't ask if he saw it before, I just assumed he hadn't.

I think that most men that are interested in a woman actually like it when the woman also does a bit of the pursuing. Everyone likes a little reassurance, especially in the very early stages of dating somebody new.
