+10.35 last long run before the marathon. Tapering is really hard to handle but I know I need to trust in my training and rest this week!! Also, 2 miles walked tonight to get dinner along the river.

15 miles this week, 47 total for the month.
Easy week next week before my 1/2 marathon, hoping the strained leg muscles heal in time.

Week 3 for me: 22 Miles

This reflects my very 1st 1/2 marathon. I went to N. Myrtle Beach this weekend with a great group of ladies and ran my first half marathon. Beat my hoped for time and am going to reward myself with a massage today. I have signed up for another 1/2 marathon in Nov. in Savannah, GA. I am so excited.

    10 miles week two

    10 miles week three

I ran in a local 10K over the weekend. 9th in my age bracket, 69th over all (out of 395 ...top 20%!). I guess all the fasties were in the 10k, as my pace would have placed me first on the 5K stand...lol. A little disappointed I didn't do better... But this is still early in the season for me.

Congrats!!! on your placement - 20% is excellent - especially since it was a good size race. When there are two distances where I live, the longer distances have more 'fasties' in them as well, BUT I still like both distances and sometimes it is hard to chose which race to run.
