Hello, I'm Chanae. I'm 28 years old and I have been suffering from the effects of PCOS for about 9 years now. After struggling to get the weight off for good, I made the decision to be disciplined enough to keep going (until I find something that will work for me). Does anyone have any tips for weight reduction? I am currently on Metformin 500MG twice daily and I stopped my birth control due to the side effects.

Are you looking to get pregnant? Because if you're not, get back on that birth control!! Metformin can give a massive spike in fertility and if you're not looking to get pregnant you should be taking measures to stop you ovulating.

What side-effects were you experiencing? because if they were queasy tummy, going to the bathroom a lot (and it not being pleasant!) that's not the birth control, thats just the metformin!

Hi Chanae. I think the most helpful thing you can do to lose weight while having PCOS is cut out the refined sugars and carbohydrates and exercise. :) I also used to take BC and Spiro but am trying to get pregnant now so I got off of both of those. I am actually a vegan now but when I was heavier I did a low carb diet and lost weight very quickly with that.
