hey guys so i did deployments before (hubby is navy on subs) but this time around I will be out of state. I am staying in CT while my hubby is in VA. Do any of you know how that works with getting homecoming information and stuff so I can get there in time for homecoming? I know they give info to the family's for single sailors so they can make the trip to see there kids and they are out of state just not sure how it works. Do they send it in the mail or email? Just curious dont have an ombudsman yet but when I do I will ask her just curious if any of you have gone through this. I hate the idea of begin out of state so I can get to frg meetings.Panicked about not getting there to see him in time.

In my experience, it depends on the ship and the family readiness group running it. With some ships, I never get contacted by them and just have to get my information from my hubby but other ships have been great about keeping everyone in the loop with emails and meetings. I would just make sure you give your contact info to the ombudsmen so they can get in touch with you.

    ok thank you!!!
  • Yeah I had a pretty good FRO, but sometimes since I was back home she would forget to cal me so I made sure to call/email her regularly. Info does change a lot towards the day so make sure you keep up to date.
