Hey everyone, I just joined this group, I am 30, I got HBP when I was pregnant with my son, he is going to be 5 in a few months, It went away after I had him, but came back about 2 years ago. I take Atenalol and a water pill for it once a day, and my biggest goal besides losing weight and getting healthy is to get off these meds! I want to have another child, but wont do that to myself or my family or the new baby being over weight and unhealthy. I hope to chat with you all and learn a thing or two from you all!

Yep...getting off the BP meds is something I would like to do also. I take 2 BP pills and am always concerned with the multiple side effects. One of my medication's side effects is actually "heart attack." Another reason to lose weight and eat healthier. Not an easy task though, since I seem to love all the wrong foods. I am trying to change my life for the better, but offerings of yummy foods that aren't good for me, continue to throw me off track. However, I am recovering better, and not beating myself up over my lapses in good eating. I just pick myself up and decide that, today is a new day and I will try to do better. Attitude is everything!
