High Fructose Corn Syrup

So as I was doing up my shopping list, I wrote Post Raisin Bran. I LOVE cereal and I saw Whole Grain Cereal under level 2 so I figured this would be ok. Anyway, went to check the ingredients (I have a box at home) and saw "whole grain wheat". Great!...I thought. Then I continued to scan, and lo and behold: high fructose corn syrup. Aww darn it! That's level 5! So of course Raisin Bran got erased from my list. Gotta find a whole grain cereal that doesn't have it....I'm thinking maybe Kashi..???

I recommend all Nature's Path products. I love their Flax Plus Granola, but if you're looking for a raisin bran, you might try their version...http://www.naturespath.com/products/cereal?tid=5&brand=All&nutri=All
As you know, HFCS is everywhere, unfortunately.

Thanks for this. Interesting article. As for the Nature's Path products, I'm not sure if they sell them where I live but I'm gonna be looking this weekend when I go into town.0

A few years ago, I decided not to eat cereal anymore because of the high amount of processing involved, and with the advice of a nutritionist opted for fruit smoothies, instead. I put everything in them, including yogurt, rice milk, oj, flax seed, protein powder. I make them with fresh fruit that I freeze, and they come out tasting like a yummy milkshake. I cannot live without them. And best of all, no HFCS!0

I LOVE fruit smoothies. Haven't been making them enough though. I guess I need to start experimenting if I'm gonna do well in this challenge.0
