FITBIT

I noticed that some others on here are fitbit users so I though I would post a thread for us to keep track of each other.

My daily goals are: 10,000 steps, 20 flights of stairs, 8.5km travelled, 3750 calories burned, active score of 1000.

If I hit my goals at least 5 days a week I will certainly lose 30lbs. I'm going to log daily and also my calorie intake. If anyone else wants to join in I'd love the company and accountability!

I've always been curious what a fitbit is? Is it like an HRM?

I haven't reached it very often. But they are my goals. Ok NOW is the time to start reaching them at least 5 days of the week.

I currently don't have a FitBit. How is it? I need something like that but I am wondering if it is a good purchase.

I hit my goals but currently 900 short on my calories. I did 31 flights of stairs, 11690, 8.07km. I am getting frustrated at not hiting my calorie burned goal since this is really to me, the most important aspect. I am nearly always a few hundred under. Anyone else finding this?

I love my fitbit. Before I had it I thought I was active in my day. I really wasn't. Now I am. It really is that simple. I highly reccommend it!

I will be getting my FitBit today. I was wondering if anyone has used it while doing 30 Day Shred. If so, how accurate do you think it is for that type of a program?

I'm a late arrival to the group, but I have a FitBit, and I'll jump in here as well. :)

My goals are as follows, 7 days/week

    Steps - 10,000
    Distance - 5 miles
    Calories - 3,434
    Flights - 15
    Active Score - >1000
On top of the above from normal activity, I also have set a goal to exercise an additional 40 minutes per day. That is the hardest one for me, as I struggle to make the time for it.

I struggle to get the 10,000 steps in, as I have a sedentary job. I've started doing some little things to up my stairs (heh...) and increase my steps. They are simple, small things - but they make a difference. For instance, when I get up from my desk to go use the restroom, I won't use the one just outside of my area. I'll make myself walk up two flights of stairs to use that one up there.

In addition to the FitBit, I also broke down and got the FitBit ARIA scale. Anybody else have that? I like it a lot. It seems silly to pay $100 for a scale, but it's great having a scale that updates my weight online automatically. It also measures % body fat and updates that as well.

How did people lose weight before they had gadgets...?
