What pregnancy has taught me

My name is Jamie and I am 10 weeks pregnant. I am a first time mom and have done tons of reading and worrying! In the 5 weeks that I have known that I am pregnant I have learned a few things.
1. That crazy craving for cheetos and taco bell wont go away after one time of giving in. It seems to be an ongoing thing.
2. From week 7 on your waist will not look the same no matter how much working out you do. your clothes will still fit but you will have this weird muffin top and you will basically look like a chubbier/bloated version of yourself in too small of clothes.
3. by week 10 you will most likely grab some maternity clothes just to make yourself feel better. Nothing worse than having body image problems while pregnant.
4. Ice cream will end up being and after dinner snack all the time, especially in the summer!
5. If you happen to be like me and havent had morning sickness you will continually think there is something wrong
6. on top of no morning sickness you will worry that doing cardio and running will shake the crap outta your baby and you will harm it, you will also freak out if you roll over onto your stomach while sleeping with the fear that you are squishing it.
7. everyone and their mom will tell you horror stories of labor and breastfeeding.
8. You will freak out about how you will pay the bills while on maternity leave
9. you will be tired ALLLLLLL the freaking time, even after getting 10 hours of sleep
10. This may be just me but I seem to find myself wanting my mom around alot more now. I want to ask her questions and i want her to go baby shopping with me ( she lives 2 hours away and our works schedules make it hard to visit)
11. Your sense of smell will be the bane of your existance. There will be many times you think morning sickness is going to kick in from the smell of an air freshener.
12. People will assume that you and your boyfriend will be getting married right away. hello, stressing about a baby is enough, i dont need to stress about a wedding too!
Wow look at my crazy rambling. Can i blame my whiney list on my hormones? lol
No matter how uncomfortable I have been or how different i have felt I am so very happy to be carrying this baby. I am part of the creation of a tiny life and could not be prouder.
I am sure some of you can relate to some of these. I just felt i needed to vent, i feel bad venting to my boyfriend as i get the feeling he thinks i blame him ( hes seen too many movies. lol)
Oh and i am sure i will have many more things to whine about in the next 30 months. lol
Congrats to all you mommies! and dont feel bad if you want to b*tch a llittle among us!

That is wonderful!
Although I haven't reached the "cravings" yet this time, w/ my first I ate a lot of pizza! Instead of the maternity clothes....I prefer the belly bands to fill the gap between regular and maternity clothes! They are wonderful for during your pregnancy and after! I almost got up and ate a bowl of ice cream at 1 this morning because my belly felt COMPLETELY empty and thats all that sounded good. I ALWAYS think that there is something wrong and my nausea started 3 days ago.....ALL DAY LONG . I do also worry about exercise, and everything else...youre thinking may never be the same....EVER again!
At any rate...you are not alone with anything! This being my 3rd pregnancy, they all seem to get a little bit more trying on my body, but having two other rascals at home to take care of, doesn't help much for my much needed rest!
Happy and Healthy Pregnancy to you!!! :flowerforyou:0 -
