  • These groups on MFP are not the best. To be honest no one has contacted me with serious intension except for you. I am looking for ladies who are serious about investing time, money, and effort into getting fit and seeing crazy results. If you want to know what I'm talking about check out my partner Coach Xthea on YouTube. If you do the time you will get the rewards.
  • Congrats to you on starting Insanity! I hope you're still in it. I'm in my 3rd week of Insanity and can already see the benefits. My pants are starting to loosen in the hips and thighsand dropped a size in my bra band (sorry if that was TMI). My cardio endurance and lung capacity have increased significantly. Last weekend, which was the start of my 3rd Insanity week, I biked 15 miles in about 90 minutes. Having the beach as scenary and a workout buddy helps alot. This weekend I'm looking to do a 8 mile hike (4 mi straight downhill and 4 mi straight uphill) and the weekend after, another bike ride with an extra 5 miles tacked on. I purchased a quick weight set and am looking to incorporate weight training into my daily routine.

My start weight was 154.8lbs 3 weeks ago. I'm currently at 149.6lbs (so syked that I past the 150 mark!) My 6 week goal (the end of Insanity) is 135lbs. I want to have the BMI of an athlete, or near that, before the end of the fall. Having a family history of high blood pressure, stroke and cancer, I'm motivated. What pulled me off of the couch was when I started to constantly swell in my hands, feet and knees and I was sleepy all of the time...at 26 years old with a desk job! Also, I couldn't remember the last time I had eaten a vegetable! Yea, that's a problem! So, I did some research, cleaned out my refrigerator and replaced it all with lean meats and low fat, low cholesteral fish, non starchy veggies, low carb fruits (I will miss you, bannana) and plenty of water. My bank account is still hurting, but I know my body will thank me for it!

Just a quick somewhat motivational note: My aunt, at 47/48 was about 30 lbs overweight (a size 12) and had high blood pressure at the least. She found herself a balanced diet that she could stick to and took to the treadmilll. By her 50th birthday she lost 30+lbs, was a size 8 and didn't look a day over 30...35 on her big day. She still gets on the treadmill at an incline of 15 with a speed of 4mph and doesn't get off until she's burned 1,000 calories...5 days a week! Did I mention that she is a serious smoker? So...if she can do it and maintain her weight, then I have no excuse and neither should any of us.

Ok, back to work. I wish the best of luck to everyone and "DIG DEEPER!

OK...so this is Day #4 of my Insanity Workout-Recovery Week, and I feel like the 260 calories that it burns daily isn't enough. I NEVER thought I would feel like this about exercise lol. I waited until I was one month short of my 48th birthday, before I decided to get serious about my health/wealth. This past Febuary, I completely changed my eating habits and started hour long Zumba classes 3-4 times per week. Two weeks in, I added Curves three times per week. Then I added a 4 mile walk and an 8 mile walk to each week. I've NEVER liked or been a water drinker...I can honestly say that I could easily claim drinking a glass or two...per year. Yes, I said, "year". Now I drink 8 to 10 bottles per day. By May, I had lost 35 pounds, tons of inches and clearer, tighter skin. In June, my oldest son decided to start the Insanity Workout, and since I had always wanted to try it, I decided to start it with him. Not that I was bored or anything with my current workout regime...I just wanted to see the "true" results" of Insanity. Therefore, I stopped all other workouts and am currently just doing Insanity. Last Saturday was the last workout in Phase One of Insanity. Now that I'm half-way in the Recovery Week...and the fact that I've only lost 4.5 lbs so far...I feel this NEED to add more workouts to my day. My body had gotten used to burning 800 to 1,800 calories per day...so this measily 260 calories just ain't cuttin' it!!! lol. One day I even burned 2,361 calories (did Zumba twice). Has anyone started Insanity Phase Two yet? Should I expect to finally lose a lot of weight that reflects the intensity of Insanity, or should I expect more of the same? HHELPPPPPPPP!!!!
