Just watched this and thought it was fairly atypical and a stock, almost slasher flick. Again without spoilers but to give you a flavour it is very Silent Hill without the back story meets Paranormal Activity 2. I found it hard to connect to the characters and considering there is really only one lead with a small supporting cast I don't think enough time was spent on developing the characters. Trivia point though, the detective played Jonny Rico in Starship Troopers
