I am restarting P90X lean on July 1st when my work schedule changes (bye-bye 12 hour shifts!). I completed 6 solid weeks last fall before life got in the way and I stopped working out.

Anyone want to join me? I would love some P90X buddies!

I'll have to double check what day of the week I'm starting. I have to get yoga to fall on the weekend because it's longer. If I don't that's where I'm most likely to fall of the wagon. I may just have to be open to the idea rearranging the p90x week a little to make that happen. My goal is to get all the way through this time.

Welcome, Tony. Which program are you going to be doing? Classic/Lean/Doubles? Have you done p90x at all before? What are your goals?

I have never tried the program before... I sort of looked over the "pre-test" and decided I need to give myself a month to get ready. I am working on pullups now.. I am also doing the C25K program, and should be done with that in time to start the P90X.
I would probably do the lean program, as I want to shed the extra weight.
My birthday is in October I would love to have that "P90X bod" by then LOL

Yeah, I actually did Core Synergistics a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't finish it and I hurt for 5 solid days. That was when I decided that maybe I took a few more steps backwards than I thought and it would probably be better to shoot for July. =) Sounds like you are doing the right things.

I can't wait to see b-day pictures of your p90x bod! I am so NOT posting a before picture, but I will post an after picture.

yea, I will take before and after pics, but I don't plan on letting a soul see the before...LOL

I have sorta looked through some of the videos, fast forwarding here and there. It does look tough, but I guess that's the idea. And, as the pounds come off it will get easier, right? :)

I love the sore you feel the next day, but I dont think hurting for 5 days sounds like fun at all..

I MIGHT post a before pic if I have a really awesome after pic to put right next to it... Maybe...

They are tough, and you may have to pause the video several times the first time you go through a workout. I always tried to finish the video, even if I had to take breaks or couldn't do quite as many reps. The point is to push yourself as hard as you can, and then next time try to beat your personal best. It start start to get a little easier as you along, but it's no cake walk. And just when you think you have things on lock down, you hit the next phase and then Tony says something about how we're going to do this one-handed push-up and you laugh that creepy nervous breakdown laugh because he can't possibly be serious... and yet he is!

Yeah, 5 days is a little much. I like that day-after soreness as well. Makes me feel like I worked hard and did some good. This was something else entirely.

perhaps a doctor visit is in order?

I have seen the videos made by people who have done the program.. And they all say what you said. Even if you pause, or go slow, as long as you do it..

    "Bring It" right?
    ;)

That's right! You have to be fit enough to give it a good try, but the only person you have to beat is your former self.

    BRING IT!

P90X starts is just about 2 weeks! What are you doing to make sure you're ready?

I've been working on my nutrition and getting that cleaned up. I've also been working out 4 days per week to increase my strength and endurance, as well as just making working out a habit.

Last time I got halfway through P90X and then I quit! This time I'm going to make it through the whole thing! Who's with me?

I still plan to try... I hurt my foot a couple weeks ago, so my exercise has been interrupted, and I've not been able to run either. :(

Hello everyone! How is everyone doing for theP90x? My husband and I started on Monday. I have not really worked out like this in years, so it has been really fun!! I hurt all over, but I will keep at it because the end result will be great. Just wanted to encourage everyone to stick with it.

I started on Monday as well. It's going great and I feel awesome! I'm having some minor aches and pains as my body is adjusting, but I'm super excited. I did Kempo today which is my favorite workout in the whole program. I spent the last 6 weeks training up to be able to do p90x and I'm so glad that I did! I don't feel like it's going to actually kill me this time. =)
