Are any of my totally tall women pregnant?? I am 11 weeks pregnant and finding it hard to compare myself and weight gain to shorter girls. It seems to be all different on a taller girl

I am not pregnant now, but have a son that will be six this summer, and a daughter who is 4. My weight gain followed the "norm," I think I gained 28 with my son and 35ish with my daughter. The difference I noticed was how I showed. I didn't start really showing until about 7 1/2 months with my son - just started looking chunky, and it seemed like I carried him from side to side. My daughter was different - I carried her all out in front, and I started looking very pregnant with her at around 4 months.
Congratulations on your pregnancy!! :flowerforyou:0 -
I am not currently pregnant either but my son is 1 yr and my daughter is 5 yrs. I gained exactly 24 lbs with both pregnancies (weird) but I literally only had a belly, nothing else! I loved being pregnant because I felt like it took the "fat" away from other places and put it in my stomach! haha
It was nice to be able to wear a shirt that was tight fitting on my belly!
This was me at 29 wks
This was 34 wks
Hope that gives you a better idea!! I'm 5'10 by the way and weighed 253lbs when I gave birth to my son!
Congrats too!!0 -
I just had a baby in January. I think I gained about 30 pounds with each of my pregnancies. I got up to 220 with my second I think. I don't remember, lol.0

Thanks girls. I am 12 weeks and gained about 12lbs. It seems like I am on my way to gaining 40lbs or more. I am still under my calorie goal each day but the weight keeps piling on. Plus it seems that my stomach getting bigger from side to side not sticking out front0

I'm also not currently pregnant but when I was I gained 70 pounds! But no one could really tell. It was pretty evenly distributed throughout my body but after I gave birth BOY could I see it and feel it, that's when I joined this site.0

is this your first baby Jami? everyone carries differently, honestly, I was terrified when I was pregnant didn't know how I would look after he was born but for me it worked out great, gained 32 lbs during the pregnancy and it was all gone after birth, tummy was flappy skinned but for the most part bigger than before, my DR told me that tall ladies are lucky, we have faster deliveries and carry the weight better than our short counterparts lol If you are making sure to eat enough callories to sustain you and the baby don't worry about the weight gain because it will fly off after delivery! especially if you breast feed, anything that sticks around (not water weight, amniotic fluid, or actual baby goodness) will NOT last long! My son is 9 months old now, started doing this 5 weeks ago becaus I gained weight sitting at home on maternity leave with a stocked pantry LOL I now weight 5 lbs less than what I did when I got pregnant woo hoo! lol COngratulations by the way0

Yes this is my first pregnancy. I am not 23 weeks and up 28-30lbs depending on what day it is. I am well on my way to gaining 50lbs or more it seems. All my friends seem to be gaining only 30lbs for the entire pregnancy, and they are not active nor do they watch what they eat. What gives? I watch my calories and am an exercise fanatic!0
