Men's vs Woman's Resistance Training?

My wife and I do resistance training together four days per week on our Bowflex Revolution. We are interested in losing body fat, getting fitter, and staying fit. My main health issue is type 2 diabetes. She has just been prescribed Alendronate Sodium (Fosamax) for newly diagnosed osteoporosis.

In short, we do: Legs/Calves on Mon. Chest/Tri on Tue. Back/Bi on Thur. Shoulders/Abs on Fri. On Wed and Sat, we do weight bearing cardio. I get on the treadmill. She does Zumba.

Should my wife be doing a different type of resistance training due to her female sex and her osteoporosis?

I don't know about osteoporosis but why would she train differently because she's a woman? I don't believe in men or women exercises but rather people exercises. Whether or not her diagnosis makes that a reality or not is really up to her doctor. Hope that helps.

No. Just focus on form and technique.

I think you can certainly do the same workouts, but I'm curious why you would do a split routine vs. full body. Please don't take my word for it, but I think if you do some research, you'll find that for fat loss, a full body workout is preferred. You'll burn more calories per workout and likely see better overall health benefits as well. I split routine is great if you're trying to make big strength gains or looking to increase mass.
