Summer of 2012 - Tennis is back!

Summer time is here again, which means LOTS of tennis and biking for me.
Yesterday, NP (my bf) and I had a NSV. A couple little boys (8-9th graders) wanted to play doubles with us. We agreed. We got on one side of the net and they got on the other side. They go to hit the ball and neither of them could get it in the court. Upon realizing this, NP brings up that we should split up the teams so there is a good player on both sides.
It is after that we find out the boys just picked up rackets that morning and wanted to learn. NP taught them about grips. I was the cheerleader when they did a good job, letting them know to keep it up. We had some older practice balls at the house (we bought new ones), so NP ran over and got all three bags of them, plus a racket he doesn't use anymore, and gave all of them to the boys. They lit up like Christmas morning.
I hope they stick with it. They both have SO much potential and it is nice seeing a new generation of kids getting interested in a sport that has SO much to do with not just the physical, but so much of a mental piece as well.
