Welcome the Blended Families!
I am 26 y/o childless stepmom. I have no children of my own and 9 y/o stepson. I meet my stepson when he was 3 (I was 20). My husband and I have been together for 6 years and married for 2. We also have 4 cats.

So glad to find this group!
I'm a 29 y/o step mom. I recently got married, and married a man with a 9 year old daughter. I have 3 sons myself, and recently relocated from PA to WA state. We haven't officially come together as one family (my boys are visiting their dad for the summer months) yet so we haven't fully experienced it.0 -

Hello! I am the bio mom to an 8 year old boy (Saturday!) and step mom to a 17 year old boy. I have been in my step's life since he was just shy of 12. His dad and I married 9 months ago, we have lived together for 3 years. Dss's mom is very ill with mental illness and alcoholism, so we have had dss 100% always. I share custody with ds's dad (although we have him most of the time) and that really is our biggest struggle. He's more times than not an asshat.
Glad to meet ya!0 -
Oh ya....I also have one bio cat with dh and one step cat. :laugh:0

I'm a 26 year old mom with a 3 year old of my own (full custody) soon to be married to a man with 50/50 custody of his 12 and 16 year olds. So far so good on the blending! The big kids treat me and my daughter well, and seem happy to have an extra adult to help chauffeur and clean up ;-) My fiancé's ex-wife lives two blocks away, and surprisingly we get along really well. Like, so well that we've helped each other with house projects. I never would have believed this situation could be so normal and drama free. So far there haven't been any big issues, other than some minor annoyances. This isn't how they show blended families in movies!0
