Taper madness!

I'm running a marathon on Saturday and I think the taper madness has officially set in. So maybe I have 4 different weather sites bookmarked on my laptop, my bags half packed and a long list of things to not forget to take with me. I'm starting to carb load today and I alternate between feeling super-hyped up and very sluggish and sleepy. This is my most hated week of marathon training. *sigh* Hopefully my husband and kids can deal with me just the rest of today and tomorrow, then I'll be off early Friday morning to meet up with my friends and head out for the race!

Fun, yeah....tons of fun! I'm getting well caught up on tv shows that I've not watched this season, though. Trying not to obsess too much....don't even get me started on my manic pacing decisions.0

Don't you have that new house to keep you busy? I'm pretty sure some light cleaning, organizing & decorating make for a couple of light 'off' days pre-race. You've done the work now Enjoy!0

Ha ha, yes I do! But I have a hard time with moderation....I know if I start to unpack any more boxes I will be hauling stuff up & down stairs and rearranging furniture, etc. So instead I'm choosing to ignore the approximation 1 million boxes that still need unpacked and just sit on my rear end and CHILL OUT (or try to). I worked so hard moving this weekend, I really think my body needs a couple of serious resting days before the run. My inner organizational freak is screaming at me, though.0 -
I'm always a wreck. Between the nerves, the excess energy, the phantom pains and the obsessive checking of weather...I am not fun to be around. Good luck!0

I hate tapering before a race (ready to start climbing walls) & can only imagine it's worse when you've been logging the mileage needed for a full marathon.0
