Brand new. Where can I fit SL into my schedule?

Hi there! I have a unique situation, and I was wondering if I could get some advice. I have been doing EM2WL for 6 weeks with no positive changes, so I'm hoping that adding in some heavy lifting will give me some results!
I am a group fitness instructor. So I have a set schedule of classes I teach every week. I was teaching 10 a week all Winter, but have given some up over the Summer. Some of these classes are Bodypump which is lower weight, but higher rep. I was wondering where in my schedule would be best to fit in SL.
Monday: Bodypump (Been TAKING Bodyjam (cardio dance))
Tuesday: Bodycombat (martial arts cardio) and CXWORX (30 minute shoulder/core/butt workout)
Wednesday: Spin, Pump, and CXWORX
Thursday: OFF (sometimes take yoga)
Friday:OFF
Saturday: spin
Sunday Bodypump
So I have 2 Pumps in a row which stinks...but could I still lift heavy on those days since my body is so used to the routine?
I'm someone who has a hard time understanding weight routines. If I walked into the gym tomorrow...what would I do? I'm relatively strong since I teach Pump and I'm a sturdy girl. LOL! I've gained 8 pounds on EM2LW and I feel like crap. Do you think this could really create some change? Where would you add it? Thanks so much!

I wouldn't do it the same day as one of those intense cardio classes. The first week would be fine, but by week 3 or 4, you'd be overtraining.
Maybe Fri/Sun or Thurs/Sat, but your M-W would be really difficult.0 -
I don't see three days in there where you aren't working out again the day after. You'd have to add SL to one of your work days and then really, really, really focus on rest days. Like no cardio or yoga- think more ice, soft tissue work, rollers- things like this.
Stronglifts won't help you lose weight- at least is hasn't me lol It has gotten me stronger- which is exactly the point. I have no doubt you could do the work- not one shred of doubt- I do wonder if it will give you the results you want. I got much more definition from doing a simple weightlifting workout (like Body for Life's pyramid workout plan) as opposed to a strength program like Stronglifts.
That's me assuming though that you want to lose weight/inches more than gain strength. If I judged wrong, I do beg your pardon. I know you could do it- you're determined! Just don't know if it would be worth all the work if it won't get you the result you want.0 -

Gemiwig, you are too funny. :flowerforyou: I DO want to lose inches and shed fat, yes. I thought this was a basic weight training program that would help do that. I guess I misunderstood?
It's a basic routine so you're absolutely right there- issue is that there's more than one kind of weightlifting. There's bodybuilding, strength, endurance and explosive. Bodybuilding is where you see much more sculpting and shaping. Strength is about picking up heavy stuff. Endurance is low weight high rep. Explosive is very high intensity but very low reps.
Stronglifts- It's more strength oriented. It doesn't really focus on sculpting like New Rules of Lifting for Women, or Cathe's workouts. I think you'd be more interested in a bodybuilding workout vs a strength based one. Bodybuilding is going after a certain look, powerlifting/strength is about going after a certain weight you can lift (ie- as big as you can lol). I know Lucia and Kiki are both really into Cathe's workouts and they swear by them- and I can't deny their amazing transformations!
My goal is to increase strength and not really muscle size or definition- I just want to pick up heavier and heavier thingsI get a sick kick out of it lol When I was doing more hypertrophy workouts (bodybuilding) I saw more definition and muscle separation (biceps and delts standing out, for example). With stronglifts, I know it's working not by what I can see but by how much weight I'm lifting. I hope that makes sense- it's been a crazy morning here
