Hi, my name is Lynn and I'm 46 years old. I've been MFP for nearly a month now and have lost 14 lbs. I've hit a speed bump in the encouragement zone so thought joining a group would be helpful.
About Me: Mother lost in the shuffle … For the past 13 years, I have been devoting ALL of my time to the well-being of my children (DD 11 and DS 13). They have been practicing multi-sports since they are 3 years old. I became too tired to bother with my own well-being and so my weight gain had a snow ball effect. The more overwhelmed I became, the more food I ate.
Why I Want To Get In Shape: Tired of being tired. I simply couldn’t recognize myself anymore.
My Inspiration is my son. I bought a top and dared to ask for his opinion. He said I looked like a mother in that top but NOT his. He said I needed to lose weight. BAM! That hit hard. Although harsh, it was so very true. He turned his life around from being a chubby kid in small school to being nominated "Athlete of the Year" after his first year of high school.
With 14 lbs gone, I am already rediscovering my Joie de Vivre that I would like to share with others.

Hi, welcome. I'm 46 too, started 4 weeks ago and have lost 12lbs. Kids have a lot to blame for, but then again so have McDonalds.0

Thanks for the welcome and congratulations on your weight loss. Indeed, kids were a huge factor but it was my choice and they're worth it but now they're getting older and more independent and I'm ready to focus on me a bit more!!! yeah!0

Hi Lynn!
I'm 44, and know so well that snowball effect...Congratulations on your loss this month, WTG! I'm just joining and have about 50 lb to lose. I'm a Mom to 2 boys, 13 (8th grade) and 21 (soon to be a senior in college) I too have devoted most of my energy to the kids leaving little left for me. Wouldn't change a thing about either of them...love them to piecesI need to get my groove back in taking care of myself.
Hope to see you on the message boards!
