Welcome... Introduce yourself.

After making the post earlier today and getting tons of responses from others like me who have lost and then gained weight back and are working on losing again. I decided to make a "support" group.

Feel free to introduce yourself.

    Hi! I'm Gin

age: I'll be 41 this month *gasp lol

    height: 5'5

    starting weight: 157

    after losing: 137

    current weight: 140

    goal weight: 130

quite often i lose gain lose gain..........most of it's due to illnesses that I have and when I get sick I get down and when I get down I eat to comfort myself. I've realized this is my problem just have to find better ways to deal with it.

that and I got down to only having 3 lbs to lose to reach my first goal and well got a little cocky I guess just let myself slide.

last week I gained i think 4 lbs due to fact i had medical procedure done, so I'm on a mission to lose that and the rest I have to go but vacation is in two weeks
so i will probably gain the 4/5 back that I lose but I'm prepared to deal with that when it happens one day at a time 5 lbs is much easier to get off than 20 just have to stick with it!

I love this group, I really need the help and support. It seems like this second time around is harder than ever and I have already given up and couple times in the past months and now I am determined because I know I have been there and I know what it's like and I know I love it. I don't wanna keep staring at my old pictures wishing and beating myself up for letting go. I wanna be there! Because I know I can be ! We all CAN BE THERE AGAIN !

    Hey thanks for the Invite!

    Quick blurb about me.

My name is Josh. I am Former Army, I was Air Assault Infantry, while Active i weighed 200 Lbs, I am 5'9" at the time my mile time was 5.5min I could bench 310 by set, meaning more than just one time. I could leg press closer to 480.

I left the Army two years ago.

Now I am still 5'9", but I weigh 265 lbs. I cant run a mile period.

So, I can relate to everyone here... I didn't just fall off the wagon, I fell off and it ran me over as it rolled on past!

I was 124 at 3 months pregnant with my first child, I'd like to get back there! It kills me that I was 3 pounds away.. and I got 'comfortable'. And it took me 2 years to get back on track. Which sucks.

    Lovely to meet you all!

HI Ya'll  Thanks for the invite!

    Name: Darlene

    Age: 55 years old

    Height: 5'7

Starting Weight: 194 was my highest.

Weight after losing: 168 was my lowest (I felt really good about how I looked at this weight and my clothes fit fantastic)

    Current Weight: 183

Goal Weight: Short term goal 180
    Long term goal between 165-170

I lost most of the weight four yrs ago very quickly on one of the quick weight loss programs. I quickly learned that those programs (at least for me) are not easy to maintain. Not only were they very expensive but they didn't teach me how or what to eat. Once off the program and on my own I struggled and eventually gained the weight back plus a few pounds. Now older and wiser (I hope) I realize it has to be a lifestyle change. MFP has helped me so much since I joined in January. I'm down 13 lbs! I still struggle sometimes but I get back up and start again because this time it IS a lifestyle change.
Looking forward to the challenge and the VICTORY:smile:

P.S. My ticker shows the weight loss since joining MFP
  • Hello Everyone!

I am brand new to MFP. This is my first group and my first post! I lost weight before on Weight Watchers and fell off the wagon.
    Here are my stats:

    Name: Taryn
    Age: 21 (I'll be 22 on Saturday!)
    Height: 5'9"
    Starting Weight: 195
    Weight after losing: 178
    Current Weight: 190
    Goal: somewhere around 160

I'm very excited about MFP and this group. I need all the support I can get!

Brand new to MFP and this is my first post, but I have a long way to go and I'm going to need some support along the way.

    Name: Don
    Age: 35
    Height: 6'3"
    Starting Weight: 285
    Weight after losing: 252
    Current Weight: 293
    Goal: 215

I have tried to lose on several occasions in the past few years, but everytime I get started I remember how much work it was the first time and get discouraged. Hoping to overcome that with MFP!

I am glad to see a group like this. Here's my story. I ballooned up to 250lbs in my early 20's. A lifestyle of drinking and mcdonalds runs had caused me to gain over 100lbs in about 2 years. I stayed that way for a few years. I just didnt care but one day I was just tired. I Lost 100lbs in a year through diet and exercise. I was 10lbs from my target weight and got pregnant. i ate healthy throughout my pregnancy but I was taken out of work early so I didnt do much activity. I gained 50lbs during my pregnancy. When I had my son I got back down to 185 but I was suffering from terrible PPD. I stopped caring about myself and went back to 210 and here I am....Ready to do it all again.

I've been at this site on and off since 2010 and this is probably the most welcoming of the weight loss sites I've been on. I'm 59 years old and weigh 249; my weight's been as low as 130. My goal is to weigh 140 but no moe than 150 lbs.

My weakness is committment. I start off all enthused and gradually it wanes and I go round and round. It's important that I do this for my family but most importantly for me. Support is a wonderful thing and that's why I'm back - to offer support and get a good kick in the pants when I need one. I need to remember that slow and steady wins the race.

I am so frustrated and ready to fall off the wagon again. My husband and I have been consistenly logging everything we eat, trying to do more fruits and vegetables and cooking low fat and low cal. He has lost 17 lbs already and I am super proud of him. I lost 8 lbs and then for some reason I have gained 3 back. I log EVERY bite I eat no matter how small and I always meet my 1200 calorie goal. Why in the world am I gaining?
