Before I did the Tough Mudder, I felt like I couldn't read enough about it. I really like to know what I'm up against, but felt like I couldn't find a good first hand write up...so I wrote my very own blow by blow account of Tough Mudder. Here it is for all of you first timers out there!

Great thread. I'm a mere mortal doing the warrior dash next summer, so you spartans and mudders are awe inspiring to me. I get some knee/shin/sciatica pain when I do too much running, so I have been trying to balance running with other things - the training programs look awesome. Today is my last session with a trainer (21 awesome sessions this year) so these workouts will spur on some exciting new workout ideas.

Thanks very much for the resources. I'm planning my first Tough Mudder next year (2014) but have a Ruckus Run next month.

I've never even done a 5K, so the resources are helpful...I'm also working hard on strength training over the next year.
