How do you prepare your food for the day, week, etc.?

The way I prepare my food looks something like this: I buy lots of sandwich, snack, and gallon plastic bags. When I grocery shop, I ALWAYS read the lables. Mostly I buy fresh or frozen because of all the sodium. Otherwise I look for low sodium. (you would be very suprised to see how much sodium is in food.) When I get home I brake down my grains into serving sizes. For example Vic's lite popcorn serving is 3 cups; I measure out the whole bag into 3 cup portions and I reach for one on the go or to just eat at home. I do the same with cereal, pretzels, nuts, oatmeal, and so on. It is just so easy for me to be prepared. 99% of the time, I weigh my protein or any other foods. I use measuring cups and measuring spoons. (I have plenty so I am not washing them in between ingredience. The 100 calorie packs are great for a snack. Skinny cow has icecreams and candys that are satisfying. I eat lots of healthy but I do not deprive myself otherwise I know I will bindge. It took me a long time to get to this place. I know longer have the diet mentality as long as I am eating and exercising I am okay. The numbers on MFP tell it all. I don't hold back.

I like the way you think, Anne. I do do mine a little differently. I try to eat the least calories in the morning. Because I do most of my eating at night, I try to preserve the calories for later in the day. I try to avoid as much sugar as possible and buy products with Splenda in them rather than the other artificial sweeteners. I too am using measuring spoons and cups. I also will put my meals for the day in my tracker early in the day so i know what I have to look forward to later. As long as I can see what I have coming in for the day I can plan my snacks for later. So far this is working for me. We all have to do what works for us. We got the way we are alone and we alone are the only ones who can get us where we want to be. It is nice to have support and it is helpful to be accountable. (((hugs)))0
