First Tri DONE!!

Finished my first sprint tri on Sunday. It was AWESOME!! I wrote a longer blog post about it here:
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/aggiesrar05/view/my-first-tri-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly-283629.
But my overall impression was
1) Pool swims are annoying... by the time we got to where I was seeded it was utter chaos. Regardless it still was the fastest 300m I have ever swam
2) I think next time I practice transitions I'll take into account that there will be other racers and stuff everywhere. Maybe instead of running up and down my driveway practicing transitions I'll start a house or 2 down and weave in and out of cars parked on the street in my neighborhood.
3) Bike portion = AWESOMENESS!!
4) Don't neglect running in the training part... and put on socks for the run blisters = ouch
Overall I had a great time and will do it again. A friend put the idea in my head to do an Olympic distance at the end of September... I think if I do that race I'll do the Sprint distance and shoot for an Olympic Distance in Spring 2013.
Again, thank you to everyone who answered my endless questions and were super encouraging even when I was doubtful!

It's at Townlake right? Over by the Berry Center? That's about 7mi from me. I could ride my bike there, though I'm still afraid of riding on Barker Cypress... To many idiots driving that street!0 -

Yeah. Transition is in the parking lot of Lonestar College right there. I LOVE OnUrLeft races. Best run in the city. About $10-15 more per race but well worth it.0 -
Congratulations!!!! Funny how as soon as you're done, you already start to think about when you can do another!
I've never done a race with a pool swim. Just the idea of all that confusion is intimidating.0 -
Wow! Way to go! Glad to see the first timers coming out smiling!0

A great report, and a great race. And, come to think of it, great attitude!
