Hi just wondered if anyone on here runs with their dog or more specifically a Fox Terrier?
We are getting a puppy at the end of July and am very excited about it!! He won't be able to go out for the first couple of weeks but after that would like to take him running with me sonetimes to wear him out!!
If anyone has any tips for running with a dog (will start on a lead til have a good recall) or any tips in general on Wire Fox Terriers, please let me know!!
Cheers :flowerforyou:

I didn't start running with my dogs until they were each about 4 or 5 months. Before that, even a regular walk will wear them out. But that's good, too, because it gets them used to being on the leash and everything. I like using the gentle leader harnesses to keep them from trying to chase things or pulling hard on their neck. My wheaten terrier walks and runs with me very well, I even take him rollerblading, but my husky mix is a mess and she doesn't really care that I'm there so having the head lead helps. She would run about 15 miles a week with me in the winter but it's too hot now and she gets tired and dehydrated quickly. Pay attention to them because they will run themselves to death if you let them. Overall it is a GREAT way to get their energy out and bond with them.0
