Breakdown of weight gain

Not sure if this helps anyone; I found it reassuring with my first....though it is only a rough guide....remember we are all different! By the end of a pregnancy; it is estimated that the weight gain can be broken down as follows:
Baby: 7-8 pounds
Placenta: 1-2 pounds
Amniotic fluid: 2 pounds
Uterus: 2 pounds
Maternal breast tissue: 2 pounds
Maternal blood : 4 pounds
Fluids in maternal tissue: 4 pounds
Maternal fat and nutrient stores: 7 pounds
Hope it helps reassure a few; and don't worry if you've not put on weight; I'm sure your baby will be ensuring he/she gets what he/she needs :-)
