Okay, I have manange to blow the better part of the week stressing out and generally having a bad attitude. My poor attitude can be attibuted to the weight gain over vacation the stress was all about my doctor appointment today.
Guess what, it has gotten me no where.
The weight has not come off and my doctor did not have good news for me and wants me back on Monday for a full panel of blood tests. My blood sugar level was alarmingly low considering when I ate and how much I had to eat. In the back of my mind all I could think was "I quit drinking soda, why again?" I know that soda is part of the reason that I am where I am today; it is also why I did not notice the signs earlier I was controling my blood sugar level by consuming soda. I have tested as a borderline diabetic twice before and never took it for the early warning that it was.
Okay, now that I have dumped all the negative.........
This weekend I am going to clean house, bake bread, ride bike, yoga, fitness video and dance with the kids to relieve my stress and bad attitude. Most of all I am going to MOVE. I refuse to give into my fear, bad attitude and stress all of these things keep me from making progress and I am determined to make progress before it is too late. Life is just to short to dwel on the negative it is time to find the positive and MOVE on.

ABIGAIL!!!! :flowerforyou: Thanks for sharing! I totally know that it can be frustrating to lose weight, and to get healthy and all to easy to "have a bad attitude," as you said. But you know what? YOU ARE HERE and you are making strides, even if it doesn't feel like it!
I am so sure that others feel the same way as you do. I mean if weight loss and health was easy, we wouldn't even have sites like this, ya know!
Keep your head up and I'm glad that you have an awesome weekend planned! If I lived closer, I'd just invite myself over! LOL I could teach you some yoga
A QUICK NOTE ON NEGATIVE MIND SPACES...
It's good to get out any frustrations you (or I, or anybody has), and once you have "let them go," really do just that. Talk about them, to get the feeling of pressure off your chest, and then move on. Plan something (like Abigail), or watch a funny video on youtube, or something cute, or go play with your kids, or spend some time to browse online shopping, or go for a walk, or dance to your favorite song, or play wii, or re organize your makeup, write in your journal, etc etc etc.
While it's not easy to overcome negativity, we just have to switch our mind state and start thinking, doing or planning things that make us happy, calm, positive, etc. Whatever that may be, and it will be different for all of us! lately, I have been watching old Justin Timberlake videos... HOTTTTTTT! :explode: LOL
Anyway, we are here and we can do this!0 -
Abigal-sounds like a plan. You can do it! What tests will your doctor run on Monday? Some people are surprised that I don't have high cholestrol or diabetes. I actually have pretty good cholestrol, always have. I was borderline diabetic before, but they ran the test again and I was fine. I had to do the one where they measure your blood to see if was there for three months-something like that. I'm not very good at remembering medical things.
I didn't take any pain medication today. I've not had the sharp pains in my knees. I'm also not on my feet 8 hours a day. It feels good to walk and not have that pain. I'll be going to the Y on Saturday and Sunday and eating better, for sure!0 -
They are doing a glucose test, a test to make sure that all my vitamin and mineral levels are in check. Specifically checking sodium levels and Vitamin D. Due to my fair skin my body does not absorb vitamin D so it just builds up to bad levels (I think the Vit D will be okay since I have been getting a lot of sun, with sunscreen of course, it is actually your melonine (sp?) that absorbs it for your body to use so a light tan gained through the use of sunscreen is actually good for me).
The glucose test will be the first in the three month testing if it does not come back positive. The three month test will be repeated every year for the next 5-7 years. Most of the females on my dad's side have become diabetic in their late 20s to early 30s so the doctor just wants to be cautious.0
