I mean, no surprise, but still yucky to read about:

The largest donation, $1.1 million, went to the Marriage and Family Foundation, an anti-gay marriage organization that raises money for the Marriage CoMission.

I ate at the Chick-Fil-A in the mall in Lubbock in 1978 while Christmas shopping. I still remember it because the food was so bad. I've never been back.0

I hate having to worry about my chicken sandwich's political stance. I love Chick-Fil-A. I don't feel too bad about spending $5 there every few years, but if there was one in my area I'd have to avoid going there.0

yeah, not surprising but still gross. I've eaten there maybe once in my life and never will again.
I don't know if I trust a fast food place that would choose to close up shop on Sundays, that's half of the weekend! For an business presumably designed to make as much money as possible, that is a SERIOUS commitment to Christian fundamentalism and frankly scares me a little.0 -
There's nothing wrong with closing on Sundays. That's not fundamentalism and I don't see why it would scare you.0

Of course they're within their rights to close on Sundays. But not everyone wants to support religious organizations. I'm definitely not saying it has to freak YOU or everyone out, but it makes me uncomfortable given that they're using their influence/money to contribute to oppressive causes and groups.0 -
I can't believe people think its gross, I freaking LOVE chick-fil-a and I don't even like most fried chicken. But I don't eat there anymore because of this (this is old news) which sucks.0

Before coming to MFP, I had never actually heard of the place, though it's also possible I'm just unobservant.
Noted. I'd rather not have any tiny fraction of my money go to that organization. In fact, if a restaurant made a point of speaking out (both vocally and financially) against Exodus, they'd be likely to get my money more often.
::hint hint lurking marketing directors::0 -
i can't boycot them. of course this is b/c they use peanut oil and i can't get so much as a NAPKIN from the place... so me standing by, looking at them w/ my most ginger, scathing "shame on you" face is about all i can do. they can't miss money they've never had.0

sadly this is old news- I liked their chicken too and good for them for not making their employees work Sundays. But they are SO anti - gay I just don't even want to spend 1 dollar!0
-
We never had them in southern California until maybe five years ago. I heard they are anti-gay before I got around to going to one, so I can say I've boycotted them my entire life!0
-
Yep, old news (we never have eaten there) but I hadn't seen recent numbers - $1.1 million alone to the Marriage and Family Foundation :sick:0

the only reason i know of chik fil ay is because of a ben folds song. never been, never intend to. imagine the health impact if all fast food corps took political stands on something, anything!0
