So Tuesday night my non-boyfriend boyfriend (the one who is scared to be in a real relationship with me because I'm alot older and have kids) and I hung out at my friends house. Drinking, talking, having a great time. Nothing out of the ordinary. I had said I would drive so he drank alot more than me. I have only ever seen him tipsy and now he's pretty well toasted. Not like staggering, couldn't walk but a couple more beers would have done him in. I made him eat a little bit and drink so water. We go to bed. No fooling around whatsoever. He kissed me on the cheek and said "I love you." I shook my head while my stomach did a million flip flops. So to be honest I'm not out looking at rings nor do I want to but really - could he possibly have meant it? Neither one of us are good at talking about mushy stuff. UGH.

Ugh -- for me it has to be sober to be legit!
He may have meant it.... but with the state he was in you'll never know unless you ask him about it.0 -
Heres how it works with drunk guys.
1.. either he is one of the guys where his walls come down and he is more likely to say the truth
or
2 ..He gets mushy when he is drunk...
I would keep in mind what he said it but unless you know which kinda guy he is dont read into it...
Still its nice to hear even if they are drunk lol0 -
He could have meant it but more than likely he appreciated you taking care of him by making him eat something and drink some water. From only what is said in your post, I can't imagine a guy who is concerned about the age difference to mean he romantically loves you and kisses your cheek after you did something kind of maternalistic when he was drunk. Sorry, but it seems like how you would respond to your mom when she cares for you when you're sick.0

People definitely say things while drunk, that they wouldn't have said sober. He meant it I'm sure... but MUCH easier to say I love you with no inhibitions.0

He's never ever been mushy before. He's mushy with his actions (tipsy or sober) - like he can't sit by me w/o kissing me forehead, cheek, arm, hand and when he kisses me I swear it looks like it does in the movies. If I had extra money to bet I would say he does love me but he's scared to death. But then again I've been SO wrong before that I suppose I'll keep my money .0

Eeek. I hadn't thought of this. He sure doesn't treat me like a mom though.0 -
I think he was showing affection and that he does have feelings, but i wouldnt jump from that to an instant " WE ARE IN LOVE!!!" headspace.0

I'm not. Personally I fell in love with him about a month ago. He knows how I feel and when I told him his response was everytime we hang out his feelings for me grow and he thinks that is how it's supposed to be. I told him I agree and I'm good with that. He's had 2 relationships in the past that both began as one night stands. I'm the first person he has ever met, was friends with, gotten to know and then had sex with.0 -
