Did your tastebuds change during pregnancy?

Hey everyone!
I am wondering if anyone else had the experience I had. At some point during my first pregnancy, junk food of any type became viscerally repellent to me (on a tastebuds level). My ideal food would have been a raw organic cucumber and my nightmare scenario would have been like, caramel cheesecake ice cream with a side of Cheetos. I didn't exactly have food cravings but a lot of foods were so disgusting to me I couldn't eve stand to discuss them, and anything with any additives, I could REALLY taste the additives, I mean, it tasted like drinking perfume, or when you get a glass the soap hasn't been properly washed out of.
My little boy is 7 months old and now I am capable of enjoying the occasional pseudo-junk treat but my taste is just different now. I really like a lot more cold fresh types of flavors, and unhealthy food has lost its appeal. But before all this, the nightmare scenario I described above would have been a culinary indulgence I would have dreamed of eating on a cloud of rainbows. Now I dream of like, cold quinoa salad with greens, heirloom tomatoes, egg white frittatas, ranier cherries, anything with a lot of fresh basil, chilled cucumber soup... all stuff I liked okay before but it sure wouldn't have been on my "last meal" request list or anything.
I feel like I have hit the jackpot. I'm not trying to gloat about that or anything, but I am wondering, have any of you experienced a change like this? One thing I wonder is, if I get pregnant again, will it change back? Another is, will it go away once all the hormones from bfing and pregnancy stop raging around town? Let me know if you've had a similar experience with your total perception of food changing 360 degrees like that!

one of my pregnancies I was sickened by smell, taste, texture of peanut butter. There was another pregnancy of mine where all I wanted was veggie sandwiches. I still like them but not as much as during the pregnancy. I have had 8 babies and each one has come with it's own likes and dislikes/food aversions and such. For the most part I still like to the healthy stuff (more so than before my pregancies even)0

Thanks for responding! I wonder how much of it is the psychological thing of "I'm having a kid now and my eating habits suck and I must fix them to be a good role model" and how much is just hormonal/physiological. The whole thing feels really *physical* to me.0

hehe I think mine worked in reverse...
With my first I craved nothing but milk so would happily drink about 2 ltrs of the stuff every day. It had to be full cream too!! lucky the weight didn't stack on...but then chocolate was a TOTAL turn off.
With my second it was all about french fries and chocolate. For some reason other foods became totally repugnant to me and would make me nauseous. I had to work out extra hard during the pregnancy to make sure I didn't stack it on!
After both the pregnancies I reverted to my usual chocolate loving self (funnily enough now I can't stand the sight of french fries or full cream milk!)
Enjoy the healthy food craving whilst it lasts!!0
