Hey all! So if you are my friend, you see my posts about dancing on Fridays! Here is what I posted today for those of you who didn't see it:
"Gooooooood Goooooood Goooooooood Morning!!!! Happy Friday! You know what I like to do on Fridays, dance! Do something different for a workout, or just add on 5 minutes! Grab your wife, husband, partner, cat, dog and boogie woogie! Have a great, clean, healthy Friday all!"
This is honestly a GREAT way to start out the weekend. I add dancing to my workouts (or my days) on a regular basis! There is just so much music to get down too! Well, I have used my hrm before and I can burn about 80-100+ calories in just a 4:56 minute song! Take for example "The Way You Move" by Outkast! OMG I burn about 111 calories every time! It's amazing! I mean, what a quick way to burn calories!
I also dance with my cat. This isn't as crazy in the calorie burning department, but i'm moving and LOVING it! LOL I usually dance slower with Kuma to songs by Barry White, the Bee Gees, Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, George Michael (she loves George Michael!) James Brown, etc. As you can see, she's a soulful cat! LOL Anyway, it's fun and I enjoy it and it's something that doesn't require a lot of thought! You burn calories calories, radiate love and well- what else do you need for a little "pick me up?!?!"
SO I URGE YOU- CHALLENGE YOU- TO ADD DANCING INTO YOUR LIFE!
I wish there was a dancing emoticon! LOL I would be sooo using it! Where is the dancing carrot when you need it?!?!? Anyway, if not every day for some extra calories, JUST ON FRIDAYS! I want you to post what song you danced too! I'm telling you- it will SO be worth it! You burn extra calories, you can do it with a friend or family member or children, you can do it for free, music is free (youtube, channels, itunes, whatever you use), it's a jump start of fun for your weekend, and when you eat that extra piece of cake or have that extra glass of wine, well you already took care of it!
These are the simple ways to make small changes! Not in your body only, but with your mind too!
This Friday I danced to: The Way You Move and also Move On Up! I danced to Whitney Houston with my cat! LOL

Had not really considered dancing as another way to move and burn calories but you are right. It is a great way to jump start a good mood.
Right now I dance with my soon to be 2 yr old and my 11 mo old on my hip. The rule in the house is that if you are going to sit and watch a movie that is okay but if there is music you MUST get up and dance for the song. My daughter picks what she is going to watch so it is all Disney. Current favorites include Mary Poppins (my daughter loves music), Cars, Toy Story and Sleeping Beauty (seriously I think I can deliver all of the lines to all four of the movies without pausing to think about where I am in the movie).0 -
That is a great little fun way to get moving during movies! OFf topic, I LOVE CARS! LOL I love all PIXAR, but cars was FABULOUS!!!!0

I car danced to Michael Jackson this morning and also will dance to some george Michael after my cardio workout! YAY! What are you dancing to!?!??!0
